New Reid Healthcare Bill A Fraud

November 19, 2009

Today we see Harry Reid’s Bill, another disaster even worse than all the last healthcare versions, as bad as the Pelosi version only on steroids. New ways to tax Americans and don’t forget there is a horrible deal for the Doctor Fix that costs well over 200 Billion out there to be added to the Reid Bill that will put the cost well above a Trillion of new debt for America and Americans to pay. Reid and his Democrats are hoping you don’t remember that. The Dr fix will be a separate package to confuse us folks. This is not being explained to Taxpayers. This is fraud pure and simple, yet this is what is being jammed down our throats by Democrats and possibly some so called Republicans in the name of improving healthcare in America. Reid and his ilk are trying to get a 51% majority at this point to pass this idiotic package. This vote will be Friday or possibly Saturday of this week. Barack Obama is calling on his minions to muster enough energy to pass this monstrosity of a bill.

For those of you that don’t believe this healthcare bill will pass, read the stuff on Cloward-Piven, I reported on that and this has been covered by Glenn Beck and others, but Americans can only accept so much bad news that they discount the impact of what is going on. http://www.americanthinker.com/2009/02/the_clowardpiven_strategy_of_e.html This reference concerning Cloward-Piven strategies is offered again so as not to forget the end game of Barack Obama. Cloward-Piven is just another expansion of the Rule for Radicals by the 60’s beat generation guru Saul Alinsky, the main theorist that Barack Obama and his Czars and cabinet officers are following and are devoted to.

The Obama Team is orchestrating the healthcare debate while staying clear of the details, he is using Congress to ply his message, but it is his message to get public option at what ever cost. He does not care what it costs, he wants his name on it after the shameful votes are done. Remember this almost one fifth of our USA Economy at risk here. Government control of Healthcare is ominous and will effect each and every American in ways that are not good. The elderly will loose benefits so that the illegals can get coverage. 500 Billion to be cut from Medicare. It goes on and on.

Wake up America, we are watching a train wreck happening with our Nation, our Country, the signals are flashing all over the place, and we just stand by watching the train wreck. When will enough of us get angry enough to march on Washington again and again and again, to save this nation? The Whitehouse keeps attempting to define us as tea baggers who don’t count, a derogatory term of course, and describing anyone who questions Barack Obama’s policies and plans for the future as silly non educated peoples who don’t understand. It is easy to get worn out and give in to these Marxists, and believe me that is what runs the Obama Team people who believe in the Marxist principles. Big government to run everything, private enterprise to exist in spite of government, but not with government support. Socialism, Marxism, what ever it is, it is the same. It is fraud.

Again write your Senator now (Email is quickest way) to voice your displeasure with the Reid Healthcare bill or any public option bill and make sure you tell them you will work hard to remove them from office should they vote for government option healthcare which will lower access and quality of healthcare substantially in this nation. The battle against government run healthcare continues.

Obama Healthcare Reforms Will Cost Democrats & Moderates Greatly

November 10, 2009

The Republican message must be strong in their argument in opposition to the Obamacare what ever it looks like from this day forward. Obama is now engaging Bill Clinton in the battle and his message to his fellow Democrats and leftists is that they must win the healthcare in the Senate; to fail in this mission will be harmful to Democrats. Clinton is completely incorrect.

The Republican response to this should begin immediately that to win the passage of the Democratic healthcare what ever it looks like will be bad for Democrats because they cannot pass it without killing off the Blue Dog Democrats that will be with certainty removed from office when they next run for office. The citizens of this country are angry and getting much more irritated with the partisan politics and the attitude of Congress in their callus refusal to listen to voters.

The Conservative and Republican voters are being joined by independents and many Democrats who have seen what Barack Obama has done, that being to split up the citizens of this country to a much greater degree then in recent years. Many voted for Obama to get the American people to get along, and the opposite has happened. The average person is seeing a growing need to fight back, in fact a larger percentage of main stream voters are fighting against their Federal government on the broad range of issues presenting today. The main issue is the healthcare cost, but beyond that anger is growing on issues that combine with healthcare such as the push for European types of governing, and socialistic types of centralized government which are the main themes of the Obama Team. The average voter is beginning to see the negative side of the Obama efforts to legislate from the far left rather than the more center of the political spectrum. Average people are seeing that the debt levels are dangerous and will affect their children and grand children. That is where the Republicans and Conservatives need to concentrate their message. The Republicans and Conservative voters need to scare the dickens out of the moderates whether Democratic or Republican to counter the extreme positions of the Obama Team

Healthcare Public Option is Still a Big Threat

October 24, 2009

Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are plotting to get some kind of public option approved now or soon depending upon triggers, and they are coming up with polls that indicate the citizens of the US want this. They cannot show these polls, that ask the direct question as to whether people want government run health care, the polls they tout are trick question polls that do not fully explain the situation, such as do you want better healthcare?

We need to really demand that Washington legislators understand we as a nation do not want government run healthcare.

Senior citizens, young families and just about everyone is scared to death of public run healthcare, yet these yahoo’s in the House of Representatives and the Senate simply don’t want to recognize that fact. They must see gain of some kind in passage of this turkey. Nothing about this makes sense. Physicians all across the country are warning patients to demand an end to public option due to their feeling that healthcare in this country will decline as it has everywhere public government run healthcare is practiced.

We already see a debacle in the way HHS is handling the H1N1 flu manufacturing and distribution. As well the massive billions upon billions of fraud in Medicare and Medicaid recently uncovered extending back for years. We cannot afford this huge mistake.

Contact your Representatives and Senator and demand their attention to your wishes in not wanting public healthcare no matter what.

Nancy Pelosi seems to be a pit bull for this public option, and her rationale is because it is in place in Europe, and like Obama these people want the USA to be just like Europe. Let her move to Europe, but keep her claws off our private healthcare system. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid should look at their constituent polls which are in the basement.

Copenhagen Treaty Threatens our Sovereignty

October 19, 2009

This is of utmost importance because Barack Obama is planning to sign the Copenhagen Treaty in December 2009, which is much more damaging to the wealthy nations than was the Kyoto Climate Treaty in that it calls for much more transfer of wealth of the United State of America to foreign undeveloped countries in Africa and other parts of the world by the treaties formula because it says we have utilized more resources and put more CO2 into the air therefore we must transfer and redirect our wealth. The science is flawed, mostly Al Gore information that is driving this.

The Copenhagen Treaty will be enforced by the United Nations and internationalists and Barack Obama is scheduled to sign this agreement without prior explaination to the citizens of the United States, yet it will directly effect national and personal wealth dramatically permanently. This is scheduled for signing in early December of this year. This Treaty mandates world government which is activated by our own Constitution which allows a duly elected President to sign for the United States of America and therefore changes our sovereignity under US Constitution Article IV, paragraph 2 the “Supremacy Clause”. In 1952 there were efforts to make law, that a President could not by treaty with any other governmental body change our Constitution, however these efforts were not passed in our Congress. The Supremacy Clause is today very much a factor and President Obama is not at all concerned with the language of the Supremacy Clause in our Constitution. The American people should be very concerned.

You would think that the President of the United States would want to explain this important Treaty and how it changes our Constitution dramatically, but we have not heard a word of this or any explaination whatsoever from our own President about our sovereignty. Of course this is all based upon the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change document dated 15 September 2009. You may view that UN document as referenced below. Some of this was discussed today on the Rush Libmaugh radio program, and the warnings are going out all over the place. Unfortunately UK is going to sign the document which is amazing because it will decimate their constitutional authority, but we may follow soon with Barack Obama of like mind. WE NEED TO STOP THIS NOW, Contact your Representatives and Senators. Say no to the Copenhagen Treaty, and also send notice to President Obama that we do not support this terrible Treaty.

Attachment of Lord Christopher Monckton’s statements
Lord Christopher Monckton Warns US
Posted by Disillusioned on October 18, 2009

Lord Christopher Monckton, who was science advisor to Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, warned the US on October 14th, that President Obama will sign a treaty in early December that deals with Global Warming. This treaty contains some verbiage in it that threaten US sovereignty and makes the US pay third world countries for us releasing C02 in the atmosphere. Lord Christopher Monckton believes there is no global warming crisis and the treaty is more about World Government than it is anything else. Please watch the video. He is very credible and this situation is quite disturbing.

Lord Monckton received a standing ovation and took a series of questions from members of the audience. Among those questions were these relevent to the forthcoming Copenhagen treaty:

Question: The current administration and the Democratic majority in Congress has shown little regard for the will of the people. They’re trying to pass a serious government agenda, and serious taxation and burdens on future generations. And there seems to be little to stop them. How do you propose we stop Obama from doing this, because I see no way to stop him from signing anything in Copenhagen. I believe that’s his agenda and he’ll do it.

I don’t minimize the difficulty. But on this subject – I don’t really do politics, because it’s not right. In the end, your politics is for you. The correct procedure is for you to get onto your representatives, both in the US Senate where the bill has yet to go through (you can try and stop that) and in [the House], and get them to demand their right of audience (which they all have) with the president and tell him about this treaty. There are many very powerful people in this room, wealthy people, influential people. Get onto the media, tell them about this treaty. If they go to www.wattsupwiththat.com, they will find (if they look carefully enough) a copy of that treaty, because I arranged for it to be posted there not so long ago. Let them read it, and let the press tell the people that their democracy is about to be taken away for no good purpose, at least [with] no scientific basis [in reference to climate change]. Tell the press to say this. Tell the press to say that, even if there is a problem [with climate change], you don’t want your democracy taken away. It really is as simple as that.

Question: Is it really irrevocable if that treaty is signed? Suppose it’s signed by someone who does not have the authority, as I – I have some, a high degree of skepticism that we do have a valid president there because I -

I know at least one judge who shares your opinion, sir, yes.

I don’t believe it until I see it. … Would [Obama's potential illegitimacy as president] give us a reasonable cause to nullify whatever treaty that he does sign as president?

I would be very careful not to rely on things like that. Although there is a certain amount of doubt whether or not he was born in Hawaii, my fear is it would be very difficult to prove he wasn’t born in Hawaii and therefore we might not be able to get anywhere with that. Besides, once he’s signed that treaty, whether or not he signed it validly, once he’s signed it and ratified it – your Senate ratifies it – you’re bound by it. But I will say one thing; they know, in the White House, that they won’t be able to get the 67 votes in the Senate, the two-thirds majority that your Constitution has stipulated must be achieved in order to ratify a treaty of this kind. However, what they’ve worked out is this – and they actually let it slip during the election campaign, which is how I know about it. They plan to enact that Copenhagen treaty into legislation by a simple majority of both houses. That they can do. But the virtue of that – and here you have a point – is that is, thank God, reversible. So I want you to pray tonight, and pray hard for your Senate that they utterly refuse to ratify the [new] Treaty of Copenhagen, because if they refuse to ratify it and [Obama] has to push it through as domestic legislation, you can repeal it.

Regardless of whether global warming is taking place or caused to any degree by human activity, we do not want a global government empowered to tax Americans without elected representation or anything analogous to constitutional protections. The Founding Fathers would roll over in their graves if they knew their progeny allowed a foreign power such authority, effectively undoing their every effort in an act of Anti-American Revolution. If that is our imminent course, we need to put all else on hold and focus on stopping it. If American sovereignty is ceded, all other debate is irrelevant.

Skimming through the treaty, the author of this article came across verification of Monckton’s assessment of the new entity’s purpose:

38. The scheme for the new institutional arrangement under the Convention will be based on three basic pillars: government; facilitative mechanism; and financial mechanism, and the basic organization of which will include the following:

World Government (heading added)

(a) The government will be ruled by the COP with the support of a new subsidiary body on adaptation, and of an Executive Board responsible for the management of the new funds and the related facilitative processes and bodies. The current Convention secretariat will operate as such, as appropriate.

To Redistribute Wealth (heading added)

b) The Convention’s financial mechanism will include a multilateral climate change fund including five windows: (a) an Adaptation window, (b) a Compensation window, to address loss and damage from climate change impacts [read: the "climate debt" Monckton refers to], including insurance, rehabilitation and compensatory components, © a Technology window; (d) a Mitigation window; and (e) a REDD window, to support a multi-phases process for positive forest incentives relating to REDD actions.

With Enforcement Authority (heading added)

© The Convention’s facilitative mechanism will include: (a) work programmes for adaptation and mitigation; (b) a long-term REDD process; © a short-term technology action plan; (d) an expert group on adaptation established by the subsidiary body on adaptation, and expert groups on mitigation, technologies and on monitoring, reporting and verification; and (e) an international registry for the monitoring, reporting and verification of compliance of emission reduction commitments, and the transfer of technical and financial resources from developed countries to developing countries. The secretariat will provide technical and administrative support, including a new centre for information exchange [read; enforcement].

Here is a copy of that treaty: http://wattsupwiththat.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/un-fccc-copenhagen-2009.pdf

Anita Dunn The Obama Communicator

October 19, 2009

http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=113347

I came across this video of Anita Dunn taped in January 2009 in which she explained how she and David Plouffe, Obama’s Campaign Chief “managed the press”. It shows the why or cause that the American people never really got a glimpse of who Barack Obama really was, where he came from and left all the questions the press might have ask but was not allowed to ask that would have shed light on Obama and his real agenda…BEFORE THE ELECTION. The control of the press seems to be a continuing saga and in my humble opinion is why we are suffering with a President that does not really speak to the American people or relate with the press, he unloads what he wants people to hear, then moves on to the next subject giving no chance to question his motives why he is doing what he is doing. He does not really want to have the American public know his ultimate goals because if they did, they would hope he never reached his goals. Anita is enamored of herself, in other words she cannot keep her mouth shut, and this is very revealing. Remember, she worships Mao Zedong or as Anita affectionately knows him as Mao Tse-tung of China, her favorite Inspirational Leader. We know her as Obama’s Chief of Communications in the Whitehouse. That is to some amazing, and to others tragic.

In fact it appears Obama is putting the private enterprise economic system in jeopardy on purpose for what ever reason, perhaps to exert power and control. He is the most dangerous President ever and I am really worried about our national future at this point. He is not interested in the actual healthcare package and what it offers, he is interested in the power of it and how much of the government he controls with the healthcare budgets. WIth Cap and Trade, and healthcare should these be passed individually or together, he will control more government than any other human being in the world, and this then becomes his ticket to the UN like vehicle to exercise global mayhem. We are now seeing that his views are global, certainly not US nationalistic, and this means his mission is to limit US power and influence on purpose to enact a leadership role globally toward sameness of nations, no one nation over the other etc. Woodrow Wilson and Franklin D. Roosevelt had the same beliefs, but were not afforded the opportunities to implement these thoughts. That I believe is something like where he wants to take this nation. This seems to be why Americans I know feel betrayed by this man, and are ready to do anything to get him out of office. Yes I am hearing impeachment from more and more people. Now I doubt this can be done easily or at all, but people feel totally betrayed by Obama and his team in the Whitehouse.

The more we learn of how this man got elected the more it appears to be not by deeds or actions, but by miss-information and clever highly planned manipulation.

Obama The Tax King

October 1, 2009

This article documents the, as of today status, of Obama’s tax promises broken. The cruel one that was discussed this evening was the VAT tax, Value Added Tax, as seen in Europe, that starts off as a 5% tax on everything and you don’t see it in the price of goods and services, but it is there, then after a year or so, it goes up to 10% and eventually levels off at 20%. It cannot go higher because the tipping point or the ability of a economic viability for families to continue making mortgage payments and car payments become impossible. This tax is stifling and average people don’t see it, but the economy becomes slave to it and growth all but disappears. Business large and small experience lackluster performance. Governments that establish this tax on top of all other taxes are rarely held accountable because it becomes ingrained in the legislative budgets and legislators simply cannot part with the revenue once it is in place. Kind of like a drug or opiate for lawmakers who cannot live without it. This is what Obama is all about, total socialism or worse. Why anyone would ever trust this President from this point forward is beyond my comprehension. The combination of the potential of government run healthcare along with all of the planned increased taxes, and now a VAT tax should be keeping all of us awake from this point forward.

The latest on government run healthcare is a real barn burner. The latest plan by Obama and his crass operatives in Congress (Reid and Pelosi) will be to come up with a hybrid plan the best in their opinion of the Baucus debacle and Pelosi’s gem, it will become Obama’s plan (remember he promised that) and they will come up with a bill called something other than healthcare, such as a new tax on TARP funded company bonuses, bring it up for a vote, and at the last possible moment, add the hybrid healthcare plan as just an amendment thereby allowing both houses to vote on the plan with a simple majority, and they hope to do this quickly before anyone notices. The healthcare will be the full public option. The wonderful congress members then can say that they voted for a tax bill rather than have to say they voted for the public healthcare plan, which they know will un-elected them in 2012. Someone leaked this plan today, so the talk radio folks have been hitting this hard to put the kibosh on this if possible. The Democrats planned to do this in the middle of the night most likely. Watch the news in the morning to find out if you got your clock cleaned over night.

Obama’s ‘Stealth Taxes’ Estimated at Over $1.5 Trillion

Thursday, October 1, 2009 6:10 PM

By: David A. Patten Article Font Size

Taxpayers at all income levels could be hit with over $1.5 trillion in new taxes, fees, and other costs over the next 10 years, despite President Obama’s repeated promises that he would not raise taxes “one dime” on those earning less than $250,000 a year.

Details of several new tax proposals, including some that would disproportionately affect the middle and lower classes, have emerged following Obama’s recent dust-up with host George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s “This Week.” The two locked horns over whether the individual mandate in healthcare reform, which requires individuals either to buy healthcare coverage or face considerable fines, amounts to a tax.

Stephanopoulos suggested that fines levied for not complying with the mandate are a tax. Obama’s response: “But George, you can’t just make up that language and decide that’s called a tax increase…. I absolutely reject that notion.”

Under the Senate finance version of the healthcare reform bill, individuals could be penalized up to $1,900 a year for not buying insurance. That mandate would generate up to $20 billion in new federal revenue, according to the Congressional Budget Office. But is it a tax?

One strong indicator: The mandate would become part of the Internal Revenue Code. Failing to pay the penalty would result in a misdemeanor crime punishable by a $25,000 fine and/or up to a year in jail. Also, both the House and the Senate versions of the bill refer to the mandate fines as a form of “taxes.”

So Stephanopoulos was correct, and Obama was mistaken: The fees assessed as part of the requirement that people purchase insurance coverage are indeed a form of taxes.

Heritage Foundation senior fellow J.D. Foster tells Newsmax that Democrats are searching for “anything to collect revenues” that don’t appear to be taxes.

“The stealth taxes masquerading as fees in the various healthcare reform proposals are just another example of this,” Foster says, “except that they also violate the president’s promise of more transparency in government. And they violate his promise not to raises taxes on the middle class.”

Or as a Wall Street Journal editorial recently declared: “His real problem is that the individual mandate really is a tax. But the president doesn’t want voters to think of it that way, because taxes are unpopular.”

Several other taxes or quasi-taxes are under consideration. Some have been written into proposed legislation, while others are still in the conceptual stage.

So far, Democrats have primarily relied on projected-but-unspecified savings in Medicaid and Medicare to mask the red ink spilling from their proposals. Ultimately, however, balancing the budget will require eliminating government programs or raising taxes. But some de facto taxes hit consumers indirectly.

“If they take your money without your permission, it’s either a tax or a mugger,” Grover Norquist, founder of the anti-tax Americans for Tax Reform organization, tells Newsmax. “You can call it anything you want, but a fee that you have to pay is a tax.”

One tax has already been implemented. In February, Obama signed legislation hiking the federal excise tax on cigarettes by a whopping 156 percent, to $1.01 per pack.

An October 2007 report by Congress’ Joint Committee on Taxation estimated the tobacco tax would generate approximately $7.3 billion per year. The tax disproportionately affects the working poor, because one in four smokers lives below the poverty line according to Americans for Tax Reform.

Other new taxes or “fees” that may be on the table:

Health-Insurance Company Fee. The “Baucus bill” passed by the Senate Finance Committee and parallel initiatives in the House would hit health-insurance providers with an annual fee. Robert Zirkelbach, director of communications for the America’s Health Insurance Plans trade group, tells Newsmax the industry strongly opposes what he sees as a tax.

“New taxes on healthcare coverage will only make coverage less affordable for families and small businesses,” Zirkelbach says. “This is the opposite effect of what health care reform is supposed to accomplish. Unless policymakers focus on the underlying medical cost drivers, healthcare reform will not be sustainable.” Price Tag: Over 10 years, the measure would cost somewhat north of $45 billion, according to the Joint Committee on Taxation.

Energy “Tax.” A U.S. Treasury Department document obtained by the Competitive Enterprise Institute following a Freedom of Information Act request reveals that the administration projected revenues of “$100 to $200 billion annually” from auctioning off the right to emit greenhouse gases – the system known as cap and trade. Some of the funds raised by the administration will go to development of alternative forms of energy and conservation, and other government programs. The Treasury report also projected that, “Economic costs will likely be on the order of 1 percent of GDP, making them equal in scale to all existing environmental regulation.” But once again, can higher fuel costs and other economic impacts legitimately be called a tax?

The Treasury Department said the difference between cap-and-trade proposals, which auction the right to emit greenhouse gases, and a carbon tax on emissions “have blurred.” In April 2008 Peter Orszag, who now serves as Obama’s director of the Office of Management and Budget, testified to Congress that: “Under a cap-and-trade program, firms would not ultimately bear most of the costs of the allowances but instead would pass them along to their customers in the form of higher prices … price increases would be essential to the success of a cap-and-trade program.” Price Tag: At 1 percent of GDP, cap and trade as currently proposed would cost consumers $140 billion per year. The fact that it’s not technically a tax won’t be much consolation. The price tag over 10 years: $1.4 trillion.

Medical Device Fee. The Senate Finance Committee’s healthcare-reform legislation – the so-called “Baucus bill” – proposes a tax on medical devices. Ironically, the “fee” will increase the cost of medical care, which is the very problem healthcare reform is ostensibly meant to redress. Foster warns employers may react to higher insurance costs by cutting workers’ wages. Price Tag: About $30 billion over the next decade, according to the Joint Committee on Taxation.

Fee on Brand-Name Drugs. The Baucus bill would raise $1.7 billion annually by imposing a fee on those who manufacture or import “branded,” i.e., non-generic, drugs. Again, these fees, although not defined as a tax, will increase the cost of healthcare to consumers and insurance companies. According to Douglas W. Elmendorf, director of the Congressional Budget Office, it’s a given that consumers will foot the bill for the various fees in healthcare reform. “Those fees would increase costs for the affected firms,” Elmendorf wrote in a Sept. 22 letter to Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., “which would be passed on to purchasers and would ultimately raise insurance premiums by a corresponding amount.” Price Tag: $17.2 billion over 10 years.

The so-called “Bo-Tax.” This proposal would slap a 10 percent excise tax on cosmetic procedures, such as cosmetic implants or Botox injections. Price tag: About $11 billion over the next decade, according to the Joint Committee on Taxation. It remains to be seen whether the Bo-Tax will be included in the final version of the legislation to be voted on by the Senate.

Soda Tax. When CNBC’s John Harwood asked House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in May if Congress would consider levying a “soda tax” to raise money for healthcare reform, she replied “Everything [is] on the table.” Since then, the idea of a soda tax has gained momentum. In September, several leading health experts endorsed a soda tax, saying it would help curb the nation’s growing obesity problem.

Look for the soft-drink companies and the American Beverage Association to fight it. “I have never seen it work where a government tells people what to eat and what to drink,” Coca-Cola CEO Muhtar Kent recently told a Rotary Club audience, according to Bloomberg.com. “If it worked, the Soviet Union would still be around.”

Any tax on soda would encounter tough resistance from lobbyists on Capitol Hill. Both The New York Times and doctors writing in the New England Journal of Medicine have called for a 1-cent-per-ounce tax on soda. The soda tax isn’t in the current versions of the health-care reform legislation, but will probably resurface. In a recent edition of Men’s Health magazine, Obama remarked: “I actually think it’s an idea that we should be exploring.” Price Tag: According to the publisher of the Beverage Digest trade publication, John Sicher, a 1-cent-per-ounce tax would raise $13 billion annually. But any soda tax faces an uphill legislative battle. If it does pass, insiders say, it would almost certainly cost less than a penny an ounce. “I think that a tax by any other name is still a tax,” Sicher tells Newsmax. “If money goes from an individual’s pocket into the public coffers, it sounds like a tax, and therefore it probably is a tax.”

Even without the soda tax, these items add up to a “stealth tax bill” on Americans of over $1.5 trillion over the next 10 years – most of it stemming from the indirect costs of energy cap and trade. Of course, how many of these proposals make their way into law remain to be seen.

There’s one group that won’t be surprised to learn Uncle Sam is reaching deeper and deeper into its citizens’ pockets: Voters. In August, a Gallup poll reported that 68 percent of them believed their federal income taxes would be higher by the time Obama’s first term is completed. Of those, 35 percent expected their taxes to be “a lot higher.”

Similarly, The New York Times stated in a recent editorial: “The question then is not whether taxes must go up, but when, how, and how much.”

By current estimates, the budget deficit will reach $9 trillion in the next 10 years. Most economists consider that level of debt unsustainable.

Norquist says it’s no surprise that those making less than $250,000 will feel the pinch of higher taxes and fees.

“There aren’t enough rich people to fund his fantasies,” Norquist says of Obama. “So he goes to the middle class and loots them. But because he said he wouldn’t, he has to play the game of calling it something else.”

Brad Schiller, a professor of economics at the University of Nevada, Reno, tells Newsmax it would be a mistake to strictly limit the economic discussion to taxes.

“I would say the cost burden on business and households in whatever form is a reduction on their income,” Schiller says. “So we shouldn’t focus exclusively on taxes. We should also look at fees and higher costs.”

Schiller believes the added taxes, fees, and costs discussed so far will not represent a significant drag on the economic recovery in the next four years. In fact he calls them “barnacles on a boat,” pointing out that major programs such as healthcare are phased in over a period of years anyway.

In the longer term, however, he says taking more money from consumers is “worrisome,” because higher taxes and other costs inevitably hurt productivity.

Of more immediate concern, he says, are the higher interest rates that will be triggered by government borrowing and the deficit. Those factors “are going to be what really slows the boat down,” he says. And he expects those factors to begin to come into play next year.

Other changes in the tax code are probably in store as well, and none of them is likely to help the economy. President Obama has called for raising the capital gains tax from 15 percent to 20 percent. He also wants to kill the Bush tax cuts that benefited those in the higher income brackets, who disproportionately shoulder the nation’s tax burden. And Obama wants to eliminate a provision that allows U.S. corporations to defer paying taxes on overseas profits, as long as the money remains offshore. Once those profits return home to the United States, they are subject to the 35 percent U.S. corporate tax rate, one of the highest in the world.

All of those taxes and fees, however, would pale in comparison to a value-added tax (VAT), which would be similar to a national sales tax on consumption.

Value-added taxes are a common feature of the Western European societies that the globalists in the Obama administration appear to admire so much. John Podesta, the co-chairman of Obama’s transition team and founder of the Center for American Progress, recently floated a trial balloon by telling Bloomberg Television that a value-added tax is more plausible than ever before due to the high deficit.

Former Deputy Treasury Secretary Robert Altman suggests the VAT could raise $400 billion per year from taxpayers. And everyone would pay for the tax, regardless of their income bracket.

Comments Reuters columnist James Pethokoukis: “Obama’s campaign promise to not raise taxes on households making less than $250,000 a year was always considered a joke here inside the Beltway…. Maybe it was a joke inside the campaign, too.”

OMB director Orszag recently confirmed that he’s currently looking for additional ways to narrow the budget deficit in the president’s 2011 budget.

Does that mean the administration would consider imposing new taxes on those earning less than $250,000 a year?

The Wall Street Journal asked Orszag that question. He replied: “We’re in the midst of putting together the 2011 budget, and we’ll have more to say about that later.”

Orszag’s response led the Journal to advise its readers: “Hide the children.”

Mister President

September 17, 2009

Where is your healthcare plan, no one knows if it exists? You held a Congressional Speech, talked about your plan, then went on to fly around the country pushing your healthcare plan, but no one has viewed it or seen it. Did you leave it in the front seat pocket on Air Force One, or no, I guess you use the big chair. We assume you developed a plan as an alternative to the debacle that was passed by the House of Representatives and roundly rejected. You said you were producing your own version of the healthcare plan in the Whitehouse, we have seen the Baucas Plan, is that your plan? No one who has reviewed it says it is worth anything including Howard Dean who said today it is the “worst piece of legislation he has ever seen in 30 years”. If Howard Dean, a liberal Democrat thinks it is a sell out to lobbyists I guess you wouldn’t like that plan? Would you?

Now tell me Barack, is this a shell game you have going on here? Are you really just sitting in a back alley and flipping cards to see what plan you will run with next? Is your healthcare plan a cover for the debacle of ACORN that is currently taking up a lot of bandwidth and press coverage? I hear the conservative press and liberal press are now scrambling to cover the fraud going on there, guess that takes up TV air time from you and makes you grumbled. Please don’t kick the dog, Barack, nice puppy. Also, I note you are on Dave Letterman and all networks Sunday programs upcoming, except that nasty Fox New Network, those low life’s. You have plenty of air time guy, don’t get so exercised.

By the way, Mr. President we saw the Blue Ribbon Panel that you empowered to investigate ACORN, but is not acceptable because these are the same people that have supported ACORN and are part of the problem. George Soros’s group, no way. Why not do the right thing and have the FBI do the investigation of this corrupt outfit? You have their phone number I believe in the Oval office somewhere. Your staff can find the number, you know, in the non-Czar phone directory. Yes I know you don’t use the cabinet directory much other than the Attorney General’s number but you have that number memorized. I think it is in the outer office somewhere. Yea, I know it is risky to use congressionally confirmed Secretaries and Directors, but you gotta do it this time Barack you really do.

Back to the healthcare issue, is it your idea to move legislation through without the American people having enough time to read it on-line as you promised in the election, or will you ram it through without adequate review and input from the American People, perhaps even let congress members read it also. The American people need to review it, you know the people you were elected to represent, Those people, the little people.

I guess the honeymoon with the press and the American people is now officially over, it is time you get down to work and do something for the American people, rather than against the American People. What is your work schedule anyway, Mr. President, have you spent any time at all in the Oval Office? I’ll bet your in-basket is overflowing with crisis things….Oh that’s right your administration thrives on crisis, never want “sharp elbows” Rahm Emanuel your Chief of Staff to be unhappy allowing a crisis to escape under utilized. They tell me he is a mean son of a gun. Gosh, your jobs is difficult Barack, but please do your best in keeping the little people in mind. Barack could you send me a coffee mug from Air Force One, you spend a lot of time aboard that great plane, it would be a nice souvenir for my two grand sons, oh make that three please. They won’t miss just tree mugs, I hear Hillary and Bill took all the Air Force One plateware and silverware when they left office. I have another grandson on the way also, make that four mugs. Great, you aren’t so bad on second thought, Thanks Barack.

Again We See Obama the Bait and Switch President

September 13, 2009

The many people now protesting in Washington, DC and across America are angry with Obama and getting angrier because of the Unseen Healthcare Package (UHP) he is now selling like a barker at a carnival. It is a fact now that he has taken up the issue saying his plan will be written out of the Whitehouse now, but where is it? He is selling something that we cannot see, or read, or evaluate. We can only hear the bellowing of the nonstop campaigner Barack Obama acting like a candidate or community organizer rather than as an elected President. We have to endure platitudes and glowing minutia lacking specifics and detail in the pitch of his so called plan. He dishonestly claims that the Republicans have no plan, there are many plans that have been developed but the Whitehouse and the leadership of Congress has not considered one of them. The Republicans have been consistently ignored and rejected from participation in what ever the Democrats have worked on. The President is telling lies.

Obama is now seen as unseemly and desperate. He does not get it as to how unprofessional and unethical this makes him appear. Perhaps he does not care how he is viewed. He is an embarrassment which he is causing all of us to suffer. When will we see the evidence of his healthcare plan if it exists, so that we can read it and comprehend what it contains and offers? How can anyone with ethics sell something we have not seen or a plan we have not reviewed? We probably will not get to see it before it is brought up for vote, the now too familiar routine that this President and his handlers are prone to do. Until that happens he should be calm, collected and wait before he boards Air Force One to sell a non-existent product. Once he has a plan, he should give it adequate time to be read, and revised, and allow the citizens of this country to read it, as he promised when he ran for President. I doubt that will happen because this is a bait and switch President.

Confidence in our Presidents has been a staple of American politics, a person acting like a President and accomplishing like a President will be honored like a President. It is not possible to view Barack Obama as a proper President these days; he is acting more like a used car salesman, or kitchen utensil salesman at Wal-Mart. He has lost the respect of major percentages of the citizens of this country, and his performance in office will now be much more difficult.

I cannot wait until we have a real President, one that we can respect and can look to for good substantial leadership. Keep in mind the next opportunity will be at hand in three and a half years. Mean time let’s try to straighten out Congress in the next congressional elections and throw those who want to destroy this country out of office.

A President about to Create a Nightmare For All of Us

August 20, 2009

As this Wall Street Journal article points out, the Whitehouse is pushing and shoving anything forward that will result in government run healthcare which the majority of American does not want. When will it be made possible to tell this President that his idea is not right and not wanted? How much more will he do to trample on our Citizen rights to leave our healthcare system be. Yes there is work to fix some of the problems of healthcare in this country, like getting rid of state boundary restrictions on healthcare providers currently imposed by Congress. This alone would create excellent new cost reductions for the average consumer. This is why many states have few providers. His administration insists that 47 Million people are without healthcare, when in fact when you boil this down to real figures, it is closer to 15 Million people uninsured. Many of these simply are eligible to have insurance but choose not to enroll. This is a President who is creating a crisis just to secure his brand of a fix, a massive fix to address a much smaller problem that can be handled within a private healthcare system.
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB125072573848144647.html

The Community Organizer President is consumed on healthcare fighting while Iraq is falling apart. He has inner-circle Whitehouse advisors inappropriately profiting from healthcare advertising, which should result in relieving Axelrod from his advisor duties immediately. Nothing less should be acceptable. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1207610/Hellish-scenes-bomb-blasts-rip-Baghdad-leaving-95-dead-536-wounded.html

The President is in constant campaign mode, while bullying industries and anyone who shows concern over what he is doing He wants, and if he does not get, he attacks, attacks doctors, insurance companies in fact the entire insurance industry, and he attacks private enterprise. He attacks US Citizens who are fighting to repel his concepts and ideas. Unbelievable how angry this man is. Why do we have a President that is so angry? He certainly is not in any kind of way able to work within our Constitutional elective system to accomplish his goals. He does not want to follow legislative protocols or existing long term policy approval processes.

His stance is one of being at war with the American systems and at war with the American people. He is a creature of crisis, generated for the most part by his own making only to use such crisis as a means to alter and blast through policy that normally would not be possible. Obama wants the public single payer option to take over what he proclaims is a completely broken private healthcare system, which of course it is not. The idea of competition of a public verses a private system is folly, most experts know this. Not good enough President Obama, you are not empowered to install your concept without the blessing of the American people. You seem consumed with one tract thinking and a messianic concept that you and you alone can achieve in spite of what the rest of the country has been unable to achieve. Of course achieving universal healthcare is not what we need or want. The American people have said that clearly.

We see Canada’s healthcare system in terrible shape, the same model that Obama wants to impose on our land. It is a failure but they are finding in Canada that they have a terrible future of trying to put in place a privatized system that will mean many long years of struggle and poor healthcare in Canada. Canadians now face the problems that Obama wants us to face in the future. These government run systems do not work, the evidence is clear but not to Obama and his followers. The Obama administration has reason to want this system and it has nothing to do with quality or availability of healthcare, it has to do with power and power alone, one sixth of our economy in government control.

Obama’s concepts trample over all historic and expressed desires of the majority of American people. This is coming from a man who has never managed anything in his life, has never held a position that required a performance track record of achievement, and in general is devoid of success of any kind. Getting elected to the Presidency is not a complete pass toward changing the form and concept of the Constitution of the United States of America. We have Representative Waxman sending outrageous letters now to insurance companies with dictatorial demands for information about their businesses that will effect competitiveness and will be in fact be extensively damaging to the insurance industry. This is a direct confrontation because of perceived blockage by the insurance industry relative to the concept of government run public single payer options. It says of our current far left leadership that if you object to your government, you get slammed and ruined. I believe we are seeing a complete overrun of our constitutional safeguards. This has to be stopped. Who and where is the opposition that will bring some kind of relief from this train wreck we all might be about to witness?

It appears the Democrats are about to make a huge mistake and try to pass some kind single payer universal healthcare plan now. They will do this without Republican participation and without support of the majority of the American people. What arrogance this displays on the part of President Obama and leaders in Congress. This is an outrage. This will damage our economy and our future as a nation. Our competitiveness is about to end. Our children and their children will not have the same kind of life style that their preceding generations have enjoyed and prospered from.

Federal Grants and Funding are Changing under Obama

August 14, 2009

The nation’s nonprofit sector has begun to see the changes in how money gets spread around in Washington then to local communities in the states. They are beginning to see that all monies are placed into control channels such as HHS with very strict guidelines for distribution to organizations that provide social services to low-income communities. The next step many in the nonprofit sector fear is income limits, whereby services will be limited to those families or individuals who are scored as low income in a sort of income means testing or fee schedule base taking into account the recipient income or asset class. This is the kind of thing we saw in the Johnson Administration with the “Great Society”. Our nonprofit sector today has shed that narrow stipulation for the most part, but here it is coming at the nonprofit sector full blast from the Obama Administration as in the Johnson Administration.
http://www.nptimes.com/09aug/npt-090801-1.html

It appears that we are slipping backwards to the 1960s era in the way massive Federal funds will be distributed. The strings attached to new funding both national and local will affect nonprofits greatly and will be controlled by the Internal Revenue Service that is gearing up for surprising massive controls to what a nonprofit can and cannot do. US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner is instructing the IRS to fully implement new standards of how nonprofits are to operate and it is feared the IRS will be putting many strings attached to all operations. Currently there is a major buildup of AmeriCorps, ACORN boosting their ranks by huge numbers, and placing them in powerful positions to control federal dollars through the redesigned of Obama’s’ Compassion Capital Fund, the Serve America Act and the new Office of Social Innovation. The amount of control over funding coming out of all agencies of the Federal Government and particularly the Czar level of the Obama Administration is alarming and is sending out messages that will indeed lower substantial expectations that the local community will have much if any say in how these dollars will be spent or implemented. Professionals within the nonprofit world are worried about being stifled by bureaucratic red tape that comes with working with government as it seems will be directed from the Whitehouse. Guidelines will be massive and the dollars are going to be tied into philosophy based scoring by our rapidly growing centralized government.
Nonprofit Times Federal Two-Step, Paul Clorery, Aug 09

When the Federal Government sets standards, the public donations that flow to nonprofits are effected downward in that donors tend not to donate where state and federal dollars are funding the services in highly designated ways. The general public will see that the government becomes the funder, not the private sector. It follows that the citizens loose control of how and where dollars flow into their communities that will be taken away from them and left to bureaucrats to administer. This is not healthy because the local decision making is voided.
